The MLB is hitting an exciting stretch because we’re currently entering the areas of the season. With fifteen matches up on the board for Saturday night, I anticipate another afternoon of baseball. One of the games around the plank will be between the Kansas City Royals and the Miami Marlin. Both teams are eliminated from postseason contention, but are trying to finish the season strong. This game will start at 6:10 PM Eastern time.
Kansas City has earned a listing of 52-90 over the season, which has them sitting in fourth position of the AL Central. The Royals are ahead of the Detroit Tigers, but also have had a disappointing season. Kansas City has experienced a great stretch and will try to keep that streak upward as they attempt to put a decent end.
50-90 has been gone by the Marlins this season up to now, which includes them in last place of the NL East and the National League. Miami has put up a respectable 2-2 listing up in their last four games. The Marlins will try to bounce back with a win at the second match on Saturday, after dropping the first match of this series on Friday night.
These two teams have had a run within their past couple of games and will look to attempt to keep it up as they finish out this season. Both teams will look to find the better of each other in this series, although neither team has had a good season. I feel that the series’ match should be another one following Friday night’s tilt.
Earlier this show, the Marlins were able to put up a good battle against the Pittsburgh Pirates that are struggling. Miami won two of their three road games such as a 1 run win at the tenth inning of the game, against the Pirates. Kansas City was able to acquire games against the Baltimore Orioles along with the Detroit Tigers in back to back three match series.
The very first game of this show was on Friday night. The Royals took the lead with an RBI single in the inning. Kansas City added a run in the seventh inning and Hunter Dozier iced the game. Jorge Lopez got the win as he pitched six innings and allowed four hits as the Royals pulled off in the street with a 3-0 win.
This 3 game series between Miami and Kansas City will be also the one that sequence and the very first one since 2016. Both of these teams are performing for the seasons they have been having coming into this set. The game was a close defensive struggle and that I anticipate another good matchup between these two clubs on Saturday night.
Whit Merrifield has experienced a solid season for Kansas City up to now. He’s put up 183 hits, 16 home runs and 72 RBI’s. Alex Gordan has set up 12 homers 132 strikes and 67 RBI’s. Strikes have been put up by jorge Soler, 40 home runs and 101 RBI’s, while Hunter Dozier includes 129 hits, 25 homers and 78 RBI’s. Ryan O’Hearn also has double digit home runs on the year.
Starlin Castro has earned this season to 150 hits, 17 home runs and 74 RBI’s for the Marlins. Miguel Rojas has 111 strikes, but only 5 home runs on the season. Jorge Alfaro has set up 14 home runs, 101 hits and 46 RBI’s. Garrett Cooper has 14 homers 98 strikes and 49 RBI. This season, harold Ramirez and Curtis Granderson have dual digit homers.
Both these teams boast some solid hitters in their lineup this year. The Royals are somewhat more powerful but I believe the Marlins have a lineup that is deeper. Miami couldn’t get anything so I expect them to make any adjustments on Saturday to attempt to get some runs on the board.
Danny Duffy will begin on the mound for Kansas City on Saturday. Duffy has posted a list of 5-6 throughout 19 starts this season. He’s got an ERA of 4.89 and a WHIP of all 1.397 in these starts. Duffy’s last start came from the Baltimore Orioles, where he allowed three earned runs and seven hits during six and a third innings.
Caleb Smith will have the start for the Marlins at Saturday’s matchup. Smith has an 8-9 record. He has a 4.30 ERA and a 1.136 WHIP. Smith’s final start was against Washington Nationals on September 1. He allowed seven hits and six earned runs through five and a third innings pitched since he took his weight loss of the year.
These two pitchers have had strong seasons because of their own clubs. Smith has set up better stats, but he is coming off a difficult loss in his last matchup. Duffy wasn’t good in his last start, but did not let as many runs. I feel that Smith will come out quick to attempt to bounce back following his loss in the previous game. When Smith has a good start, I think that the Marlins can pull off a win on Saturday night.
Both of these teams haven’t had great seasons, but I think Saturday night’s game will likely be close. The Marlins got shut out on Friday night. I believe that Miami will rebound with a win however on Saturday. The Marlins have the starting pitcher on the mound and also have depth in their own lineup that is hitting.
BetOnline has Miami listed as a -112 from the money line on Saturday. This also gives a Small edge. I think this line is solid since Miami is currently looking to bounce back at home after a reduction. I enjoy the Marlins to take the game of this string to tie this up, although both teams have been doing within their past few matches.
