This week, we’ve got a 13-fight card at Boise, Idaho. It is headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, who is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller contests with this card because it is only a Fight Night card using lesser known name, but there’s still well over $100k to be won. I will be chasing my fair share of that money and that I hope you guys will be . Listed below are a few plays I enjoy this weekend and my fade of the week.
Cash Game play of this week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I believe Volkanovski is the”safest” play on this particular card and also his -300 betting line would concur with me. That is where I’ll be starting my lineup this week and I’ll figure the rest out from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points during his first four UFC fights so he’s got a whole lot of upside too. He could potential score over two winners with this particular card combined. I do think he’s in drama for GPPs as well for that reason, but he will probably be the most peculiar owned fighter on the card and we do not care about ownership as much in cash games. I would suggest paying for the expensive cost on your money games and then search for at least 3 others wins you’re confident in.
GPP play of the week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to be the way better striker inside this struggle and I believe that is where the fight will occur. He could get KO’d at the opening minutes of this fight and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP drama in lieu of a cash game play. With both of these Heavyweights, we need to likely see a KO within the 25-minues and that I think the former champion, JDS, will be the one to receive it. He’s got great takedown defense so he ought to be able to maintain this fight on the feet where he’ll have a 4-inch reach advantage to work with.
Underdog play of this week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to function as underdog play of the week. The chances indicate that the fight should be fairly close and there is a great chance he utilizes his wrestling to gain the advantage. In 5 fights that he has not seen a decision yet, and there is a possibility it stays that way if he receives Brown to the ground. Niko has some slick submissions in his arsenal along with a great deal of heart. On the toes, Brown probably has the benefit with his reach, but Cost does have some sneaky power too, which can not be overlooked. All in all, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of the week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he’s just $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my opinion, Perez will need a finish to have a shot at paying off that pricey salary and that I don’t want to invest in that, personally. He has never landed more than one takedown at a fight and Wineland has excellent takedown defense, so we must see this battle occur on the toes. I think Perez needs to be the person to get his hand raised in the conclusion but I think that it will be via decision. If that is the case then he can score ~60 points in a win, and also at $9.1k that isn’t going to win anybody a championship. I will be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he doesn’t get the end and he is my official fade of the week.
