Supporters group Forever Bury have declared after a potential buyer stopped their attention, they wont continue to prevent the HMRC winding-up request.
After they failed to generate evidence of how they would fulfil their commitments for the rest of the season the club Football League membership was withdrawn in the end of August.
An takeover bid dropped as well as the latest effort to help secure the potential of the club has fallen through following due diligence on the part of the interested party.
We hope to inform the supporters of Bury Football Club the interested party who has been working with Forever Bury on a proposed bid to purchase the club has confirmed this is no longer a viable potential for these, read the statement.
As matters have unfolded and the required due diligence has been undertaken, the complex, complex and fiscally distressed situation at Bury Football Club has resulted in their choice to stand back out of further discussions.
Resulting from this information, Forever Bury will not currently be putting forward a legal defence against the HMRC winding-up petition on Wednesday 16th October 2019, as we think there isnt any longer adequate evidence to suggest a meaningful case might be created.
