Bury takeover bid falls through – HMRC winding-up petition will not now be challenged

Supporters group Forever Bury have announced they will not continue with their legal struggle to prevent the HMRC winding-up petition following a buyer ended their interest.
The clubs 125-year Soccer League membership was pulled in the end of August as soon as they failed to generate evidence of how theyd fulfil their obligations for the remaining part of the season.
An initial takeover bid collapsed and the effort to help secure the potential of the club has also dropped through after due diligence on the part of the party that was interested.
We hope to inform the supporters of Bury Football Club the interested party who has been working together with Forever Bury to a planned bid to purchase the club has verified that this is not a viable potential for them, read the announcement.
As things have the necessary due diligence was undertaken, the complicated, complicated and fiscally distressed scenario in Bury Football Club has resulted in their decision to stand back from further discussions.
Resulting from this news, Forever Bury wont now be putting forward a valid defence against the HMRC winding-up request on Wednesday 16th October 2019, since we think there isnt any longer adequate evidence to indicate a meaningful case could be made.
Well update you further as developments unfold
